How do I do this with just the usb? I can write in C#. I have no idea how to just send gcode at the cnc controller because I don't know where to start even establishing a connection via usb.įrom what I understand if I were to use the comm ports (RS232) I can just select the comm port and a baud rate to match the cnc controller and fire gCode at it, and away it goes. My issue is most of the software I have come accross uses COM ports and not usb. (there are no outputs from the cnc machine to talk to the pc to trigger my software) I have been playing around with the idea of just sending the Gcode straight at the CNC controller and hoping that I can bypass the software that comes with it entirely thus solving the entire problem by sending the gcode via my software. The CNC machine comes with software that is very good, however my issue is I need the CNC machine software talking to my original software to retrieve the logs. The software then via a browser accesses the log of the tested device (logs cannot be retrieved an other way) The original automation involves some software I have written to control an arduino and actuate many actuators. This is an upgrade from an existing automated practice. We have recently bought a CNC machine to do some automation.
